Many of us move through life disconnected - from ourselves and from our relationships with others; from our own bodies, feelings, and thoughts, the quiet places where overwhelming and painful experiences still live. Without looking at what is below the surface, we cannot change it. Together, we can begin to make sense of those experiences, gently and patiently, so that what has been hidden or unspoken can come into the light, and real change can be experienced. My approach is rooted in British Object Relations, a psychoanalytic theory that holds the belief that our early life experiences still shape how we love, trust, and experience both ourselves and others in the present. This work goes beneath the situation you're facing right now, deeper than any single emotion or behavior, to the beliefs and experiences underneath them. Rather than staying on the surface of what hurts, we go back to where it started, to the experiences that shaped you long before you had words for any of this. With care, we'll gently sit with what's underneath, making space for you to come more fully alive in your own life. This work is done at your pace, as slowly as you need. If this way of deep, relational work resonates with you, I'd love to talk. Please reach out for a brief phone conversation; I'd be glad to hear where you are and talk about what's possible for you.
